i want it to have about 12 pieces

A couple of ways of doing this are:
Buy blank, already cut jigsaw puzzles, which you can draw onto.
However from your question it does look like you want to print from a PC. There is excellent jigsaw paper that fits through your PC printer.
The paper comes in thin, medium and thick paper already precut. You just need to print you design.

There are online solutions which are excellent.Try jigzone who will let you upload your own designs.
