When I opened the box and saw this puzzle, I was so impressed with the quality and durability. The colors are vivid. the pieces are very small and thin, are a good size and very thick, can take the abuse. My step grandson loved it. The best part, he can not destroy it, it is very hard on their toys, but this is consistent. I would like to purchase products from Melissa and Doug again and would recommend it to anyone. Excellent puzzles and great price.

We have three Melissa and Doug puzzles. My son was only about three months when we bought this. Smaller puzzles with fewer pieces were no longer a challenge. Of course, this did not challenge him for a long time, but he loves pirates and so loves to do this again and again. This puzzle is very durable and I hope to hand down to my son's coming.

Although below the age range, my 25 month old enjoys doing the puzzle on a regular basis. It was definitely a challenge to have to put together without a picture to help, but that seems really educational part of this puzzle. There is evidence enough of the pieces for him to put it next to hers and she loves the theme of pirates. He has had the puzzle of about 3 months, put together probably about 75-100 times and holds perfectly.

All Melissa and Doug puzzles are the highest quality puzzles I've ever seen. My son, now 4 years old, has loved the puzzle as it was only a year old and this is just our choice. They rise to the often rough fall and how to play and even when I accidentally stepped forget to put it away and have never broken or cracked. Love these puzzles and will buy them. Although I think the puzzle of 48 pieces may be better for younger children. My son still enjoys them, but after two days is now able to put together very quickly. I think it's time to move on to something bigger. . .

We love Melissa and Doug puzzles. They are resistant and last longer than other puzzles. I wish there was a picture for my son to go outside, but it seems to do well without it. Love the cute pirate theme!
